Abstract

This research is observe the maxim violation of the listener reaction to the speaker speech found in the JOKER movie based on Grice’s principle maxim Quality, Quantity, Relevance, Manner. This Research question is 1) What maxims are violated by the characters in the Joker movie? and aims to describe the violation of maxims in the Joker movie. When carrying out this study. The research applied descriptive qualitative to obtain information concerning the current status of phenomena.
