Abstract
ZAHRA SYIFAUN NISA 2023, The Impact of the Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) Program on English Department Students’ Academic Performance. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training Education of Universitas Jambi in academic year 2023/2024. The first supervisor is Dr. Masbirorotni, S.Pd, M.Sc. Ed. The Second supervisor is Dr. Mukhlash Abrar, S.S., M. Hum. Keywords: impact, student exchange, kampus merdeka, pertukaran mahasiswa merdeka, and academic performance This study aims to determine the impacts that affect the academic side of students during PMM activities. This study focuses on the impact of the academic side of English education students at the University of Jambi following the MBKM program, especially for the first, second, and third batches of PMM programs. Researcher used qualitative methods to determine the impact of the PMM program on the academic achievement of students majoring in English. This study was conducted in the English Language Studies program of the University of Jambi with a total of 10 participants. The data were collected using interviews and documentation. Interview Questions consist of 20 questions with four sub-themes. The interview contains experiences from the academic side of students based on interview questions. The results of the data analysis found three main reasons students want to participate in PMM activities and three main impacts related to the influence felt by students on the academic side during PMM program.
