Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai perbandingan pola motif hias Masjid Keramat Pulau Tengah dengan Masjid Agung Pondok Tinggi di wilayah Kerinci. Dilakukannya penelitian, karena adanya kecenderungan kesamaan penempatan motif hias sulur-suluran antara kedua masjid. Penelitian yang menggunakan metode kualitatif yang terdiri dari tahap pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, analisis data, dan eksplanasi data. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini ada dua yaitu: Pertama, terdapat ragam motif hias pada kedua masjid antara lain motif kelok paku, motif tampuk kelapo, motif kelopak bunga, motif selampit tigo, motif selampit duo, motif kuku gajah, motif huruf S, motif takah tigo, motif tirai, motif jeruji, motif tapal kuda moor, motif pucuk rebung, motif paku rancah dan motif lingkaran. Kedua, terlihat persamaan pola penempatan motif hias yang dapat dilihat dari penempatan motif sulur-suluran pada bagian sisi sudut yang paling mendominasi antara kedua Masjid. Persamaan bentuk dan pola motif hias menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Pondok Tinggi dan Pulau Tengah berakar dari satu kebudayaan yang sama. This research examines the comparison of decorative motif patterns of the Masjid Keramat Pulau Tengah and Masjid Agung Pondok Tinggi in the Kerinci region. The research was conducted because of the tendency of similarity in the placement of decorative vine motifs between the two mosques. The research used qualitative methods consisting of data collection, data processing, data analysis, and data explanation. The results obtained from this research are two: First, there are a variety of decorative motifs in the two mosques, including the kelok paku motif, motif tampuk kelapo, motif kelopak bunga, motif selampit tigo, motif selampit duo, motif kuku gajah, motif huruf S, motif takah tigo, motif tirai, motif jeruji, motif tapal kuda moor, motif pucuk rebung, motif paku rancah and motif lingkaran. Secondly, there is a similarity in the pattern of placement of ornamental motifs that can be seen from the placement of vine motifs on the side of the most dominating corner between the two Mosques. The similarity in the form and pattern of ornamental motifs shows that the people of Pondok Tinggi and Pulau Tengah are rooted in the same culture.
