Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan self esteem pada mahasiswa dalam masa studinya. Dalam penelitian ini berfokus pada prestasi akademiknya yaitu hasil dari pembelajaran atau yang biasa disebut dalam perguruan tinggi ialah indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa tingkat indeks prestasi kumulatif dan self esteem mahasiswa yang dimilikinya, serta untuk mengungkapkan hubungan indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) dengan self esteem mahasiswa Bimbingan dan Konseling Universitas Jambi Angkatan 2020, 2021, dan 2022 Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian korelasi. Populasi berjumlah 292 orang dan dilakukan teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan Stratified Random Sampling dengan formula Slovin didapatkan sampel sebanyak 169 mahasiswa Bimbingan dan Konseling Universitas Jambi angkatan 2020, 2021, dan 2022. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket dengan skala likert yang menggunakan dan analisis data menggunakan persentase, uji normalitas, uji linearitas, serta analisis korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata tingkat indeks prestasi kumulatif mahasiswa berada pada kategori sangat memuaskan dengan persentase 80%. Tingkat self esteem mahasiswa Bimbingan dan Konseling Universitas Jambi angkatan 2020, 2021, dan 2022 berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 65%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan positif dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,306 dengan signifikansi 0,000< 0,05. Nilai korelasi (0,306) berada dalam kategori korelasi rendah (0,21-0,40) yang menandakan hubungan yang jelas tetapi kecil. This research is motivated by problems related to self esteem in students during their studies. In this study, it focuses on academic achievement, namely the results of learning or what is commonly referred to in higher education is the cumulative grade point average (GPA). The purpose of this study was to determine the level of cumulative grade point average (GPA) and self esteem of students, as well as to reveal the relationship between cumulative grade point average (GPA) and self esteem of Jambi University Guidance and Counseling students Class of 2020, 2021, and 2022. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlation research method. The population was 292 people and a sample withdrawal technique using Stratified Random Sampling with the Slovin formula obtained a sample of 169 Jambi University Guidance and Counseling students in the class of 2020, 2021, and 2022. The data collection tool used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale that uses and analyzes data using percentages, normality tests, linearity tests, and product moment correlation analysis. The results showed that the average level of students' cumulative grade point average was in the very satisfying category with a percentage of 80%. The level of self esteem of Jambi University Guidance and Counseling students class of 2020, 2021, and 2022 is in the high category with a percentage of 65%. Based on the research results, it shows a positive relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.306 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. The correlation value (0.306) is in the low correlation category (0.21-0.40) which indicates a clear but small relationship.
