Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine how significant the effect of Let’s Read Asia media is in improving English reading aloud. The study focuses on students’ reading aloud ability related to volume while reading, pace, appropriate phrasing, and reading accuracy. It was a quasi-experimental research conducted in a Junior High School. The sample of the research was students in VII A (as an experimental class) and VII F (as a control class), by conducting a pre-test, treatment (in six meetings), and post-test. An independent sample t-test was used for data analysis. The results of the mean score of the post-test in the experimental class were 12.54, and the mean score of the pre-test was 7.75. Meanwhile, the control class had a mean score of pre-test were 7.08 and 11.33 in the post-test. The experimental class experienced an increase of 4.79 points, while the control class had an increase of 4.25 points. The result of the independent t-test of sig. (2-tailed) was 0.00<0.05. It means that the null Hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It concluded that there was a significant effect on students’ reading aloud by using Let’s Read Asia as a teaching medium.
