Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kemampuan argumentasi siswa yang masih rendah karena siswa masih kurang aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan argumentasi adalah model 4-step jigsaw (4SJ) dan model argumentativ-jigsaw. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbandingan kemampuan argumentasi siswa dengan menggunakan model 4SJ dan model argumentatif-jigsaw. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian gabungan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel diambil melalui teknik purposive sampling yaitu kelas XI MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen II. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes esai (posttest) dan lembar observasi. Untuk melihat perbedaan kemampuan argumentasi siswa melalui model 4SJ dan model argumentative-jigsaw dengan menggunakan uji t-independen. Sebelum dilakukan uji t dilakukan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas terlebih dahulu untuk mengetahui bahwa data homogen dan berdistribusi normal. Sedangkan untuk melihat penyebab adanya perbedaan kemampuan dilakukan uji kualitatif dengan menggunakan catatan lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan argumentasi siswa di kelas model Argumentatif-Jigsaw memiliki rata-ata sebesar 84,13 dan di kelas 4SJ sebesar 75,34. Dan disaat dilakukan uji t-independen dengan menggunakan spss terlihat nilai sig (2-tailed) posttest di kelas 4SJ dan Argumentatif-Jigsaw sebesar 0,000 (0,000 < 0,005) artinya terdapat perbedaan kemampuan argumentasi siswa di kelas Argumentativ-Jigsaw dan di kelas 4SJ. Berdasarkan catatan lapangan penyebab yang mempengaruhi perbedaan kemampuan argumentasi siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran 4SJ dan argumentasi-jigsaw, yaitu pada kelas argumentatif-jigsaw aktifitas argumentasi siswa lebih intensif dibandingkan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model 4SJ. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan argumentasi siswa dikelas 4SJ dan Argumentasi-Jigsaw pada materi koloid di SMA Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi. This research is motivated by students' argumentation skills which are still low because students are still less active in learning activities. Learning models that can be used to develop argumentation skills are the 4-step jigsaw (4SJ) model and the argumentative-jigsaw model. This study aims to compare students' argumentation skills using the 4SJ model and the jigsaw argumentative model. This research is a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. This type of research is experimental research. sampling technique was taken through a purposive sampling technique , namely class XI MIA 1 as experimental class I and class XI MIA 2 as experimental class II. The research instrument was an essay test (posttest) and an observation sheet. To see the difference in students' argumentation skills through the 4SJ model and the argumentative-jigsaw model using an independent t-test. Before the t-test was conducted, the normality test and homogeneity test were conducted to determine that the data were homogeneous and normally distributed. Meanwhile, to see the causes of differences in abilities, a qualitative test was carried out using field notes. Based on the research results, the argumentation ability of students in the Argumentative-Jigsaw model class has an average of 84.13 and in the 4SJ class of 75.34. And when an independent t-test was carried out using SPSS, it was seen that the posttest in the 4SJ class and Argumentative-Jigsaw was 0.000 (0.000 < 0.005), meaning that there were differences in the argumentation abilities of students in the Argumentativ-Jigsaw class and in the 4SJ class. Based on field notes, the causes that affect the difference in argumentation ability of students who learn to use the 4SJ and argumentative-jigsaw learning model, namely in the argumentative-jigsaw class, students' argumentation activities are more intensive than students who learn to use the 4SJ model. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are differences in the argumentation abilities of students in class 4SJ and Argumentation-Jigsaw on colloidal material at SMA Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi.
