Abstract

Basically, the structural quality of the road will decrease according to the increasing age of the road, especially if it is passed by vehicles with heavy loads and tends to exceed the provisions. Today's highways often experience damage in a relatively short time (early damage), both newly built roads and newly repaired roads (overlays). This is due to the increasing volume of vehicles on the Jl. Tempino-Muaro Bulian which makes the life of the road plan shorter. Since the governor's instructions regarding the regulation of coal transport traffic and other heavy transport in the Jambi province area, the vehicle route has been changed to the Muaro Bulian-Tempino road and has caused the accumulation of vehicles with large loads and tends to be excessive, as a result the road's functionality has increased to become a coal and vehicle road. other heavy burdens and result in the quality of the road becoming quickly damaged and as a result of the accumulation and increase in the volume of vehicles passing through this road. Therefore, considering these conditions, it is necessary to conduct a study on the analysis of the impact of vehicle axle loads on the design life of the road, which aims to determine the effect of vehicle axle loads on the design life of the road on the Tempino-Muaro Bulian road section. Data collection was carried out using daily traffic surveys (LHR). ). The data obtained was processed using the Bina Marga method. The results of the analysis show that with a design life of 10 years on the Tempino-Muaro Bulian road section, it can be concluded that with the additional axle load for vehicles in categories 6a, 6b, and 7a of 2440, 3598, and 441, this currently results in the remaining percentage of the design life being 8 year and a decrease of 2 years. With a cumulative standard axle load value of 921452710.9 and this affects the design life value. The plan life should end in 2026 but with the additional axles of vehicles passing through the road, the plan life will decrease and end in 2024.
