Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi motif – motif di rumah lontiok. Motif-motif tersebut belum diidentifikasi sehingga jenis dan arti penempatannya belum diketahui. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, maka metode yang digunakan terdiri dari pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, analisis data, interpretasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif dan interpretatif serta menggunakan penalaran Induktif Hasil penelitian mendapti Rumah lontiok memiliki tujuh jenis motif dengan makna penempatan yang berbeda beda. Tujuh jenis motif tersebut meliputi motif kaluk pakis atau bunga kecubung, lambai – lambai jenjang, kalok pakis, lobang angin papan tebuk, buah padi, awan larat dan pucuk rebung. Motif – motif tersebut memiliki arti yang berbeda beda. Motif kaluk pakis atau bunga kecubung yang ditempatkan di anak tangga memiliki makna kehidupan selalu dimulai dari bawah dan berproses sehingga menuju ke kehidupan yang lebih baik, motif lambai- lambai jenjang yang ditempatkan di kepala anak tangga memiliki arti kegigihan dan harapan dalam berusaha terlepas dari perjalanan hidup yang didalam lingkar nasib, motif kaluk pakis yang ditempatkan pada bagian bawah pintu yang memiliki arti kegagalan dan kesalahan yang diperbuat oleh orangtua maka yang merasakan malu yaitu anak – anaknya, motif lobang angin papan tebuk yang ditempatkan di bawah jendela yang memiliki arti pengingat ikatan sebuah persumpahan, motif buah padi yang ditempatkan di tiang rumah memiliki arti simbol ekonomi, motif awan larat yang ditempatkan di daun jendela yang memiliki arti kelemahlembutan, motif pucuk rebung yang yang ditempatkan di dinding rumah yang memiliki makna kesuburan dan kebahagiaan. Kata kunci : Rumah Lontiok, Motif, Ornamen, Arti , Penempatan ABSTRACT This study aims to identify motifs in the lontiok house. These motifs have not been identified so that the type and meaning of their placement are not yet known. To answer this problem, the methods used consist of data collection, data processing, data analysis, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. This study is a qualitative type that is descriptive and interpretive and uses deductive reasoning. The results of the study found that the lontiok house has seven types of motifs with different placement meanings. The seven types of motifs include the kaluk pakis or kecubung flower motif, the jenjang lambai - lambai, the kalok pakis, the lobang angin papan tebuk, the rice fruit, the larat cloud and the bamboo shoot. These motifs have different meanings. The kaluk pakis or datura flower motif placed on the steps has the meaning that life always starts from the bottom and progresses towards a better life, the rambuai-ambai jenjang motif placed at the head of the steps has the meaning of persistence and hope in trying regardless of the journey of life in the circle of fate, the kaluk pakis motif placed at the bottom of the door has the meaning of failure and mistakes made by parents, so the ones who feel ashamed are their children, the lobang papan tebuk motif placed under the window has the meaning of a reminder of the bonds of an oath, the rice fruit motif placed on the house pillar has the meaning of an economic symbol, the awan larat motif placed on the window leaves has the meaning of gentleness, the bamboo shoot motif placed on the wall of the house has the meaning of fertility and happiness Keywords: Lontiokhouse, Motif, Ornament, Meaning, Placement
