ABSTRACTS Adreeanti, D. 2019. The Influence of Jigsaw Model on Students’ Discussion Behavior in English Learning at Junior High School 3 Kota Jambi. Thesis. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Jambi University in Academic years 2019. The first supervisor is Eddy Haryanto, MSc. Ed., M.PP., Ph.D. and the second supervisor is Lilik Ulfiati, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keyword: Influence, Discussion Behavior, Jigsaw Model This research aimed at finding out whether or not jigsaw model significantly influences the eight graders’ discussion behavior in learning English at SMPN 3 Kota Jambi. The eighth graders were uncomfortable when doing discussion, because only part of student want to do discussion. The other students, on the other hand, were being passive and did not have any opinions when they joined the discussion. The design of this research was pre-experimental research. One group pretest-posttest design was chosen because, based on the technique sampling only 8A was accepted to be the target and accessible. Independent variable was jigsaw model and the dependent variable was students’ discussion behavior. The data of this research were quantitative data collected. The result of this research showed that the R value was 0,394. It means that jigsaw model 39,4% influencing the students’ discussion behavior. So, it indicated that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted.
